Completed in 2005, this beautiful community center contains an aquatic
center with large heated childrens pool and family change rooms; A large library with a cozy fireplace,
internet acces and childrens area. 2 Twin NHL ice pads with a Pro Shop offerng skate sharpening and
merchandise. Also has a gymnasium, 3 meeting/party rooms, a Youth Center, a Seniors Center, 2 cafés
and numerous vending machines.

Facility features include a 7,200 sq. foot maple suspended floor gymnasium which also
is home to a 30-foot climbing wall with 3 challenge elements. A cycling fitness room, 3 multipurpose
rooms and kitchen. Seasonal sport, fitness and leisure programs are available. Pay-as-you-go sport
services are available for various ages seven days a week. See the Markham Recreation seasonal guide

Rouge River Community Centre is located in the Legacy housing development at 9th Line
and 14th Avenue. Overlooking the Rouge Valley, this picturesque site was the former IBM Golf and
Country Club.
The facilty features an outdoor leisure pool with a full schedule of public and family swim and
aqua-fitness classes. Indoor recreation programs such as Adult Ballroom, Latin and Swing Dance,
Pre-school basketball, and Pre-teen drawing programs are offered here.

Community Centre Holiday Schedule
During a holiday long weekend recreation programs and operations at all Markham Community
Centres run as scheduled unless otherwise noted. For additional public skate and swim
schedules call your area community centre. When holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, Fitness Centre
