Cannington Dog Sled Races and Winter Festival

Cannington Dog Sled Races and Winter FestivalThe 8th Annual Cannington Dog Sled Races and Winter Festival, is an extravaganza of family fun and entertainment that gets bigger and better each year. Kid’s can have a dog sled ride, pony ride or the complimentary horse drawn wagon rides. As well as family snowshoeing, kick sledding (like a scooter on snow!), snow tubing, big foot challenge, the Tater Toss, Snow Obstacle course and much more. Other highlights for the kids include the Zoo-to-you interactive exotic animal display and the Crayola Kid’s Activity Center. You can visit a traditional Métis village set up complete with re-enactors in traditional costume. There will also be a selection of native foods as well as crafts for sale. An outdoor Métis stage features performances in music and dance. And let's not forget the dogs! Over 80 mushers will compete for $10,000 in prize money. You will see 4 and 6 dog racing, as well as 1 and 2 dog ski-joring. Plus, we welcome back the Jamaica Dog Sled Team! Mush Mon!

Richmond Hill Winter Carnival

Welcome to our 44th year! A weekend of affordable fun and entertainment featuring pancake breakfast, live music, dog show, hockey skills clinic, ringette, amateur band contest, face painting, colouring contest and more! Organized by volunteers to celebrate the community of Richmond Hill in a welcoming atmosphere.

Newmarket Winterfest 2012

Free admission, nominal fee for some activities. A donation of non-perishable food for the Newmarket Food Pantry is appreciated. Many activities organized by community service groups and volunteers. Activities and attractions include: pancake breakfast, family bingo, children's activities, photography contest, wagon rides, pony rides, children's games, dog sled rides, skating and hot food, free public skate & swim. Aurora Family Day Arctic Adventure

Aurora Artctic AdventureOn Family Day, Monday, February 20, join family, friends and neighbours at the Town of Aurora's Arctic Adventure event happening from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Town Park, located at Mosley and Wells Streets. The event also features skating, dogsled rides, ice carvings, snow shoeing and live entertainment. Vendors will also be selling homemade cookies, BeaverTails®, hot dogs, hamburgers, hot chocolate and coffee. Please note: All activities are weather-permitting.
