Get Fit, Meet other Moms and Support Great Causes – now in Markham!
Moms In Motion is an International Women’s Health & Fitness Organization providing
fitness teams for women of all ages and abilities. No matter what type of team, the focus is always on
Fun, Fitness and Philanthropy. The essence of Moms In Motion emerges naturally as members work together
toward a common fitness goal. Camaraderie and team support evolve into deep friendships and healthy life
changes that last forever.
Moms In Motion was founded in May of 1999 with the following mission statement:
- To help women carve out time for themselves to improve their physical health and well-being
- To teach women to set personal goals and to work together as a team to achieve them
- To give back to our communities by supporting local charities
Markham team leader Tracey Hardie is coaching new 5KM walking and running
groups in anticipation of the CIBC Run For The Cure on September 30th.

There is a no experience necessary
policy with Moms In Motion; only an interest in healthy living and giving back to the communities we live
in. The walking group is designed for women of all ages and abilities, while the running group is designed
for women interested in a greater physical challenge. The training sessions are in place to challenge and
inspire each woman to reach her personal fitness goals while building lasting friendships. Most importantly,
they will raise funds in support the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation; an organization that impacts the
lives of so many women we know.
Women interested in participating in the running or walking groups are encouraged to register at www.momsinmotion.com.
(Use the “find a team” link to locate the Markham groups.) The registration fee offers members
access to the Moms In Motion community for one year, along with a participant training shirt. The course
fee covers group instruction by a certified personal trainer for an eight week period along with access
to guest speakers throughout the session.
